No doubt some sort of tribute will be arranged in mid week. A verbal tribute from the crowd (or minutes silence) and the floral/card tributes left will hopefully be of some consolation.

A lot of the tributes being left on forums are simply for the sake of political correctness. Not so much on the facebook group since you can put a name/face to it but a bunch of faceless tributes have no real meaning. Being politically correct is not genuine emotion in most cases. I'm sure some people are genuine for sure but a lot of it just seems for the sake of political correctness.

The real meaningful tribute will be at Ewood for the upcoming fixture. I think that will mean more to the family of the victim than tributes on any messageboard will. I could express my sympathy all night long (and I do feel some as well as anger at the stupidity of it all) but the best time to pay respects will be at Ewood in midweek as a crowd. I suppose a crowd is quite faceless but at least it would be a public mass tribute.

Some people (members of Rovers Mad for instance) have already tried to claim infiltration by supporters of another club as the cause of recent racist chanting and Saturday's fatal accident. I think it probably was an accident as stupid as it was. The people who make those claims are simply trying to push forward their tedious obsession even if it means exploiting an incident like this to do it. You refer to comments by other supporters as petty rivalry being put aside (and I know we have had disagreements on rivals but that isn't the point now) but some people still can't put that type of thing aside. It was our own fans at fault end of story and we have to accept that hard as it may be to accept.
